It was my first time sewing something wearable for myself. A peasant blouse. A shirred peasant blouse. Kind of a sew along between me and Rozi. She emailed me the tutorials about 3 weeks back. She made hers already. Read about it here. I finally get to worked on mine last week, as i managed to finished my June orders early.

My partner in crime keep telling me not to use this fabric as it is 100% japanese cotton. Therefore it will not 'jatuh'. But my hands were so itchy to sew & i didn't have time to go to any fabric store to buy more kain. Dengan degilnya determination, i took measurements, cut, send for serging and sew myself the blouse. Everything was ok except the sleeve part. Though i measured & cut the sleeve long, it ended up 3/4. the first 3 inches were pulled up as the shoulder part ( i didn't know that ;).

I have always wanted to try shirring. So, i gave it a try. On the sleeves. These tutorials here, here and here helped a lot. And because this blouse has not 'cut' and since it was made of cotton, when i put it on, it went kembang setaman. I looked like a barrel LOL! To loose the kembang effect, i shirred a little under the bust line. Didn't helped much but oklah. Tang pinggang acik, nampak la ada pinggang ;). Still has the kembang effect on the bust area though. Made me b**bies seem bigger than they really are LOL!  I don't think i can wear it 'alone'. Must 'pair' it with Akif. Like so..

Tadaa...

Punya la tak excited nak pakai walaupun baju tak la cun mana, dah jalan baru perasan baju masih ada kesan pencil merah-merah hahaha..

I got stung by the BW bug ;)

One day, while browsing for what is the next carrier i should buy (want actually), i came across another local BW maker's website - SNUGGBABY. Liza, she specializes in making Mei Tai (MT), Ring Sling (RS) and now Soft Structured Carrier (SSC). Adoyai.... i fell in love with her selections of designed fabrics. Deliciously beautiful!

After corresponding with her on which carrier would suit me best - between an MT and an SSC, i have decided i'll go for the MT with buckles first (a.k.a Buck Tie). Hehe...saving SSC for later as back up plan in case my baby's weight becomes heavier than i can support/carry.

But..up until today..tonight..still can't make up my mind on the the fabric design. I like so many la . I want something vibrant, colourful that stands out but at the same time, the colour & design matches with what i wear. Susahkan?

I hope i can make up my mind by this week. The sooner i make my order, the sooner Liza can make it and the sooner i get to wear it. I plan to use it everyday especially when picking Kimi up from school. Akif will be in the BT, Kimi in one hand and Hafiy in the other. I pictured it will be a lot easier & quicker to put on& off than my current RS and some more, once worn, it should be snug enough so i don't have to keep adjusting it like i do when wearing my RS.

Like they say..if it isn't SNUG,it isnt' SNUGG! :D

All this while kan, i tot carrying babies in a sling is an ordinary thing as strolling them in strollers. I can't remember why in the 1st place i bought my RS. I bought it while doing my confinement after delivering Hafiy. Maybe because of its convenience in carrying baby. But due to lack of knowledge (and practise too), it was left unused & folded away until recently.

Akif is a little more clingy than his brothers were. Mesti nak bau mami jugak :). Maklumlah..yg ni baby yg fully BF & co-sleep dgn mami. Kalau tak..as i put him down on the bed to sleep after BF, sure will wake up one ;P

Cuma..i wonder..kalau dah ramai yg do BW ni, how come very hard to stumble upon them? Siap dah ada forum lagi. Tapi..rasanya baru sekali dua je ternampak. Bukan je susah nak jumpa parents yg BW..tapi whenever i do it pun..orang mesti pandang-pandang (ke..i je yang perasan hehe).

I'm planning to add a couple of carriers to my collection-soon. Maybe another RS and one PS. Currently..eyeing on
