BAG! What else? Hehehehe...Yup! I made myself a new bag recently. It was to replace my Carlo Rino, where most of its handle have peeled off. The handle was not made of leather and was coated with thin shiny material. I have not been wearing it long pun but since the peeling gave the bag an ugly look,I guess it was time to put it away.
I already have a Mama Bag (see here) and Weekend Bag (see here). So what I needed was a bag for my quick outings like maybe to the nearby supermarket or to wear when I'm going out for dinner, where all I need to bring along are my purse, my phone and maybe a pack of tissues.
So I made this bag and I named it the Pesona Bag. It's made using corduroy combined with designers cotton. Closes with magnetic snap button and has one zippered pocket inside.
See how it perfectly fits my purse and my Tab :), And a pack of tissue.
Pesona bag is now available at Itsy Doodles Shop. Hop over to have a look or custom order one to suit your personality :).

More Moon-ie Bags
Remember the Moon-ie bag I made last two weeks? The experiment bag? Well, an ex-schoolmate, Ratna decided to make it hers. While Zura, the friend whom in a way inspired the making of this bag, changed her mind on the Moon-ie bag and opted for the Itsy Hobo Sling bag instead :).
Here's the hobo bag I made her. In Lacework in Olive by Amy Butler from her Lotus Collection. It has 1 zippered pocket and 2 slip pockets inside.
As for the Moon-ie bag, I fell head over heels in love with the pattern so over the weekend I made another THREE *grin*. The first bag took me a day and a half to complete. I forgot which step comes before which. This pattern doesn't have a manual since it was discovered through a trial and error method (and by referring to a few tutorials, of course). And I didn't jot anything down while making it the first time. Alhamdulillah, the other two...didn't take me as long to complete.
Know what I love most about these bags? The zipper pull :). Made a matching fabric zipper full for the bags.
To view more of these bags, click here.
Love Note : How's your day so far? Mine has been great! And about to get more ceria (and kelam-kabut) as I have to babysit my 2 1/2 months old nephew today. His babysitter is unwell and his mommy has to go to work. 4 boys...wow! Bring it on hehehe. Ermmm..I may need some luck so send some to me ya ;)..

Moon-ie bag and I'm over the moon!
My ex-highschoolmate commissioned me on a bag. A sling hobo bag to be specific. A moon shaped sling hobo bag to be precise. So I drew the pattern, made a real sample (meaning I used fabric with the same weight). I had to google on how to attached the handle and found a tutorial by tinafish helpful.. After two days and two nights (had to unpicked the whole bag on day one after I have wrongly assembled it..pffttt...) and voila!
So...here it is. I made it a shoulder bag. And it is in my fav print, Dandy Damask in Cocoa! Do you think I pass? Do see you the moon-ie shape? (please say u do). This bag is on the slouchy side as it is not interfaced. Initially, I used medium weight woven fusible interface (kain gam medium). But it was too stiff thus making it hard for me to gather. I decided to remove it. I gathered to get the effect instead of pleating it. I think, I'll use medium weight non woven fusible interfacing (kertas gam medium weight) when I sew for my friend next. What do you think? Any other suggestion for this?
This bag has 1 zippered pocket and 2 slip pockets inside. It is medium size so very roomy for the basic things a lady normally carries in her handbag - wallet(s), phone, make up pouch, keys, etc.
I already have a mama tote, a money purse and a card holder in this damask print. So it's great to have a 'normal' handbag in the same print to complete the whole collection, isn't it?
However, I'm willing to part with this gorgeous bag if any one of you are interested. I'll let go at a very special price :). Email me at itsydoodles@yahoo.com if you are interested ya.
Love note: How do you describe the feeling u get when u have successfully completed a challenging task? Me...well..I'm over the moon :)

Chic 'Granny' Tote
I was commissioned with two different tote bags but with similarities- they are for grannies and both want theirs with zippers for closure. I used the same pattern as my Chic Mama Tote for these bags. It was a challenge for me as I have never sewn a bag with zipper for closure before. Only on pouches. I was worried they may not turn out okay. And boy, I was glad they did! :)
The first bag was for makcik Saorah, my former babysitter. I went to her house a couple of weeks back as her daughter,Idra had just given birth to her second daughter. I gave Idra my signature bag, the chic mama tote I made a while back. It's the one here. Pink suits her perfectly - to carry her stuff and her girls' :). When makcik Saorah saw the bag, she liked it and wanted me to make something similar but simpler for her. Since it is not a mama bag, this bag comes with a zippered pocket and 2 slip pockets inside.
The second bag was commissioned by an ex-schoolmate, Ratna for her dear grandmother. Her granny likes the one she has (see Ratna's bag here) and wanted exactly the same. But after discussing, the bag was made two inches taller and but in the same color scheme - black & white. Since the polka dot fabric was no longer in stock, Ratna chose Silhoutte in Black for this bag. It has 3 zippered pocket outside and 1 zippered pockets and 2 slip pockets inside.
I hope both ladies will be happy with their bags. To view more on the bags, click here and here.

Two bags, one nursing cover, a pillow & one sick baby..all in one weekend
Wah..panjangnye tajuk hehehe
Middle of last week, I have confirmed with my friends/customers that I will sent out their orders on Monday (today). Come Friday, all of the items were 80% done. Just needed some final touches here and there before packing them.
On Friday too, Akif came down with a fever. Alhamdulillah, between caring for dear Akif, doing house chores, i managed to get them all done by 1.30am last night.
Here they are..
This was specially made for Ibudhani, a fellow blogger. For straps, i used the cotton webbing i bought at Craft World on my first visit there. It matches the bag perfectly.
Ibudhani also ordered a nursing cover. It was my first experience sewing a nursing cover. All though it was very straight forward, i still refer to tutorials so that i will not make any mistakes. I like the one given by Prudent Baby. I used ric-rac to embellished the nursing cover.
My second cousin, Aofah ordered a Messenger Style Sling Day Bag to put all her kids' stuffs in for their family outing. It is rather large and made according to the measurement given by her. She is a returning customer. She ordered BFF pillows from me earlier :).
Ordered by Dalia. First BFF pillow set made using designer fabric- Sway in Lime by Heather Bailey. Not as straight forward as the usual pillow case i nornally sew. Had to sew this one from pieces. I added some flower button as embellishment.
The orders are now on their way to their owners. I hope they'll like them as much as i like & enjoyed making them. Thanks a lot ibudhani, Aofah & Dalia.
For more details on the items featured, hop to Itsy Doodles Shop :)
Oh..and Akif, Alhamdulillah..he too has slowly recovered from the fever. Though still very clingy & most of the time cranky, he is all smiles & laughter again. Yayy!!! Btw..i see a white dot on his upper gum...could it be his teeth coming out? Hmmmm...
Love Note: Had any experience like this? Where you have datelines to meet and at the same time your child(ren) or your family needs you more than ever?

Mama Totes
I LOVE bags. Who doesn't right?
With a chickadee & a tot, i have to abandoned my handbags for a while.Remember my entry on my self made diaper bag?I love it to bits but it is white so it became comot so easily.I have now washed it & kept it. And i made myself another one.
The initial idea was to fulfill my need for a bag that can fits everything in- Akif's, Hafiy's & my stuffs..and even my mei tai too.And I wanted a bag that doesn't look like a diaper bag. I'm so addicted to bags..and it is even worse now that i can make one myself :D. Hence, the birth of Mama Tote(s).
It comes in 2 versions:-
Chic Mama Tote
A large tote bag / handbag that doubles as a diaper bag.
Can even fit babywearing gear.
Great for those who love big bags & those who have more than one child's essentials to carry.
They are both available at Itsy Doodles Shop.
I am so in love with the two bags. Thay were actually for me..hehehe. Especially that big red one. But then i decided to put it up for sale at my shop. Maybe someone else might like them too. If nobody wants it, then i shall keep it for myself ;)

English Bouquet bags & bellow pockets too :)
When you see the beautiful flowers, they immediately reminds you that Mothers Day is approaching, right? I specially made these for the occasion. These bags turned out great as i sought 'consultations' from Ms Sue and Ms Rozi. Thanks so much you guys!
Bag no.1..the one in lavender, i didn't have enough material for the pocket so it doesn't have any. My second, comes with inner expandable pockets a.k.a bellow pockets. I followed MyBotang tutorial for the pockets. It was awesome! And super easy to follow. I was smilling with delight to have successfully made the pockets. Click here for the tutorial.
For those who might be interested in these bags, they are available at my Itsy Doodles Shop.
