Bloggers Pillow Party : Ma Birthday Pillow

I came across this party while reading Anna@Noodlehead post on the Blogger's Pillow Party that Stitched in Color is having every month this year. Though I have made many pillows before, this one is very dear at heart, so I'm submitting Ma Birthday Pillow for this month's party.

This was made a while back in November 2010. The first time I saw the Ginger Tiles print by Sandi Henderson, I instantly knew it would be perfect for the birthday pillow I planned to make for my mom. I used the Ginger Tiles for the front side and Amy Butler's Memento in Burgundy for the ruffles & for the back side of the pillow.

As for the pillow case, I fell in love with the one made by lazyorganizer.com. However, I did not use the measurement given as this pillow is a little smaller than the normal sleeping pillow. I made this 20" x 16". Oh..and I also skipped the quilting part (as I have yet to master that ;).

I was inspired by the way Rozi personalises pillows for her customer, so I did the same with this pillow. But since I don't  have an embroidery machine, I just used the alphabet stitches available on my machine. It's written 'LOVE U MA' (in case you have difficulties reading the stitched words ;P). It may not be as pretty as if it was embroidered but I love it :D.

A Diehard Fan of Luxe Monologue Diary : 2009-2010-2011 & A Giveaway

I can't live without a planner. Though I'm a full time mom now, I still need to have a planner. Being a full time mom doesn't mean that life is just about the house & the kids. A mom can still do things she like but in order to do that she has to be good at multi-tasking and managing her time.  And if she has a small business at home like myself, then she needs to plan her day& work wisely. And that's were the planner comes in handy.

For the past 3 years, I have been using the Monologue Diary/Planner by Grandluxe.Nothing special about these planners though. I just love the design-simple yet functional, the colours and the layout, a week to view,simply meets my needs :). Had the shocking pink for 2009. Then the baby blue for 2010. And for 2011, it's purple.

I also found another one which I find very very chic. It's called the Fashion Diary and it comes in damask print. I just had to buy one. Chic Mama Tote for The Purse Week Contest

Lemon Squeezy  is having A Purse Week Contest. I thought of trying my luck with my signature bag, the Chic Mama Tote.
The Chic Mama Tote was first created based on my need of a large bag that can fit my stuffs as well as my children's. And also my babywearing gear. And most importantly, it does not look like a diaper bag (only function like one).

This is one of latest Chic Mama Tote I have sewn and it is now belongs to my ex-classmates from my primary school years.  I named it Chic Mama Tote- Garden in Red. Using Michael Miller's Garden Collage for the front & side pocket simply made this bag stands out :).

Thick heavy cotton in red were used as the outer fabric & for the straps. It has 2 pockets in front and 2 pockets on the sides, all using snap buttons for closure. For top closure, this bag closes securely with magnetic button.

 

The inside of the bag were lined with Japanese cotton in polka dots. It has 4 elastic/ expandable pockets inside. Roomy for all mommy's and baby's necessities. Also comes with a key lanyard attached to the bag using cute embroidered ribbon.

The side pockets are even great for carrying milk bottles or water bottles. The sides of the bags are expandable. I, however forgot to the pictures. Below are sample pictures of how the expandable sides look like.

The Chic Mama Tote measures 10(H) x 14(W) x 5(D) inches (approx) and the handles are 20 inches long.

Finally, A Giveaway...(ermm..not mine ya)

It all started with THE SALE. MyBotanG to most or for some Ms.Sue, is coming  home to Malaysia mid of this month. In conjuction with that, she is having a 'small' sale for those who follows her blog,  and her work especially. The sale was on for 3 hari 3 malam. It made some people especially yours truly makan tak kenyang, mandi tak basah, tidur tak lena. Everyone wanted a taste of true Japanese fabric. So..most of the fabric were grabbed in a click of a mouse.

I myself managed to grab a few items during the sale (abis berlobang poket ku huhu). Among the many few that i grabbed, my favourites are the KOTO fabby (in the scrap bag) & the Fat eighth in blue which are all original Jap prints. Can't wait to have them in my hand :).

Then...when i scroll down..i saw the beautiful panels. Have yet to try sewing quilts. My eyes were set on this panel.

All the quilt panels are on SALES for RM30 (NP is RM35). Tempting,right? I took my time too long to think about this particular panel that by the time this post in being written, is has been sold :(. Leg Warmer - Action Pictures

Remember that day i wrote about the prize we won in our first contest? You can read about it here
Well, the voucher is still available ( belum sempat nak ke Kay-Ef-See). The leg warmer..has been officially worn by the rightful owner. It's fair in a way...since Akif can yet feast on anything on KFC's menu, so Akif gets the leg warmer and the rest of us will share the voucher.

Initial plan was to wear the leg warmer on a family outing to the mall. But..since i don't know when that's going to happen (Ayah has been busy even on weekends). So.one evening,.i purposely dressed Akif in his romper instead of his pj's. Before he goes to sleep that night, i put on the leg warmer on him. He looked like a yummy lollipop, don't you think? Hehehe

Detik-detik berharga

Umair Akif is 6 months today.

Means so much to me cause it also means that i have fully exclusively breastfed him for 6 months.

And that i have been taking care of him 24/7 for the past six months.

I became a SAHM on the day Akif was born.

None of his brothers had these privileges.

Kedai Chomel is having its Giveaway!

Too many cute stuffs to choose from. There are Nursing Covers, Felt Alphabets, Fabric Alphabets, Nursing Clip, Paci Clip and also Burp Cloth.

However, madam giver said participants can only pick one item only to blog on. Hmm..very hard. The nursing covers are all pretty, very tempting to go for that. The nursing clips..well those could definitely replace my DIY nursing clip made of en.AJ's biz tags :D.

After giving it a hard thought, i'll definitely go for the CHOMEL FABRIC ALPHABETS (A to Z).

Why?
1.I have just started homeschooling my darling Hafiy on ABCs. These colourful alphabets would definitely catch Hafiy's attention and makes learning more fun & interesting for him. Some more..i too want to avoid from getting hurt if Hafiy decided to throw his ABCs at me like Pn. Erni Fadzilah :D

2. It'll be more meaningful cause it is not something for myself but for my adorable Hafiy (though i would love to have my hands on those NC or at least the clips ;) )
